It was a rainy day today so I wore this cheetah-printed coat to school. I got it from Forever 21 in New York, a year ago. Also, I finally had the chance to wear the cheetah-printed shoes that I bought around three weeks ago. I just love it when my clothes match my shoes and/or bag.

Over the weekend, I went out with my boyfriend and a couple of friends, went out with my family, saw the Ateneo-FEU and FIBA Philippines v. Korea games.

Finals week is coming up so I'm really going to be busy for the next few days. Please pray for me and my classmates! :)

I'm allergic to certain types of alcohol. My whole back gets red and itchy after two bottles of beer or a few shots of vodka. This pretty much explains why I'm not much of a drinker. But I always go to inumans to have fun conversations with friends. Most of the time, I just sip my non-alcoholic drink, while I chat with people.

Last Saturday, I went to Borough (Podium, Ortigas) with my Jeyz barkada/group. They're my boyfriend's high school classmates and I've been friends with them for the longest time (almost eight years). I chose to have some drinks that night so I would be able to have a good sleep when I get home.

My Chivas Slippery Slope
Borough is the type of place where yuppies would hang out. It's kind of expensive there. A bottle of Pale Pilsen costs P60 and a bottle of Chivas Regal (12 years) costs P3900. I (the boyfriend, rather) spent P180 for every glass of my Slippery Slope. What's peculiar about this place is how it serves home-made cookies and milk.

It was a  fun night and I was pretty perky after some drinks. It's too bad I'd forgotten to take some photos of us. Oh, well! Next time! :)

I've been very busy these past few days as finals week is approaching. There have been tons of readings and assignments assigned and I'm really glad that I was able to get through some of them. TGIF!

I saw Johnny English Reborn tonight with Nikko and it kept us laughing the entire time! It's really cool how Rowan Atkinson could entertain people with the most senseless antics.

This blog is really supposed to be mainly a fashion blog so I'm going to try to post outfit photos next time.

Have a great weekend, people! <3

9/11

I still can't believe it's been 10 years since 9/11. Thank God there was no Part 2!

I had a very interesting weekend.

I had a photo shoot last Friday for Ms. Micah Castro, a make-up artist. She was very nice and made me look pretty. After, we went to my boyfriend’s uncle’s 60th birthday celebration.

On Saturday, I woke up early to go to some NBA 2K11 tournament that my brother, Manfred and my boyfriend, Nikko joined. Apparently, there is a 2k11 Community on Facebook and its members conduct tournaments every now and then.  I wanted to join also, even if I knew I didn’t stand a chance but I didn’t want to spend P500 just for fun.

2K11 Tournament in Pasig Greenpark

My brother (right) used Miami Heat.

There were 11 participants and P4500 went to the Champion, while P1000 went to the first runner-up. All the participants were really good at the game so it was very fun to watch. My brother ranked 3 over-all. Too bad, he didn’t get any prize.

In the evening, Nikko and I saw Contagion. It's a so-so movie about a virus that’s spreading around the world. I didn’t like how it ends. I pretty much expected a lot from it, especially with that star-studded cast (Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Gwyneth Paltrow). I had a funny and unique experience though. Towards the end of the movie, during a silent scene, I suddenly sneezed and everyone in the cinema laughed really hard. It’s probably because during the course of the movie, the characters kept sneezing and coughing because of the virus.

“Charoterang isprikitik
Umappear ka vahkler
Magpa-feel, magpasense,
Ditey sa baler
Witiz shokoley ang udangchi ditey
Sa fezlaboom mo marse
Na nakakalurkey”

I had no classes today because of the induction of the new Ateneo President so I saw two Pinoy movies. Wedding Tayo, Wedding Hindi in the afternoon and then Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington after dinner. Both were really funny and I couldn't stop laughing with my family and boyfriend during and after.

Also, I went to Mass with my family because of Mama Mary's birthday. I am very thankful for Mama Mary's prayers so today is a very special day for me.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Happy Birthday to the Triton to my Ariel, Sultan to my Jasmine, Fa Zhou to my Mulan, Maurice to my Belle, King Stefan to my Aurora, Chief Powhatan to my Pocahontas, and the funnest dad in the world! I'm so blessed to have a dad who's way cooler than Vito Corleone! ♥ Love you, Daddy!
We made this poster for him on Father's Day 2011.

Had lunch at Luisa's Restaurant in Lucena City.  He has hearings in the afternoon so we could only meet him for lunch. We went there from Manila to celebrate his birthday with him.

My family and I went to Greenhills Shopping Center today to buy some gifts for our relatives abroad. I bought new shoes from a boutique called Suki.

Then, we had dinner in House of Minis. It was kind of my Dad's pre-birthday celebration since he will be turning 54 on Tuesday (September 6).

I had a T-Bone Steak. I've always ordered the Chateaubriand with my brother, Manfred. For some reason, you have to order it in pairs (the menu actually says Chateaubriand for 2). My brother didn't want it today so I had to pick another one.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I bought Magic Leverage curlformers from Ebay a few weeks ago and tried them for the fourth time today. Curlformers are tiny plastic mesh twirls, which allow one's hair to curl up without the use of heat. You just have to insert parts of your hair inside the curlformers with the help of a hook, leave them on, and remove them after some hours.
The seller says they're Curlformers but the box says Magic Leverage.

The boxes I bought each contained 9 long pieces and 9 short pieces.
The colors are assorted.

This is the hook which can be extended
 by connecting the two.

I used the long ones today and I spent around 12 minutes putting them on. Of course, I had to apply mousse first so the curls would stay.

After six hours, I finally took them off and was ready to go to school.

J'aime la vie

Hi! My name is Janna Robles and I'm starting this blog to document my life and to serve as an outlet. I am currently in law school and being in it just pretty much drains my creative juices. I used to write a lot in high school and college but the minute I entered law school I forgot all about my writing skills as I prepared myself for adjustment to a new world and for piles of cases and books. I am on my junior year now and I feel that I can already manage to keep something like this again.

I love fashion, beauty, the movies, photography, foreign languages, travelling, food, Mathematics, shopping, urban living, Hollywood, the law, television, music, girly stuff, being in love, literature and unnecessary information. So basically, that's what you're going to find here. Plus, my daily life, of course.
