Uncle Cheffy

So, my mom's birthday was spent at home because of the endless rain and flood that Metro Manila and other parts of the Philippines suffered from. All the restaurants and malls were closed for the day so we just celebrated by being together in our condo. We were so thankful that our loved ones were safe and we prayed for our countrymen's safety. It's sad that the country had to go through something like Ondoy again.

The next day, we had lunch at Uncle Cheffy in Ali Mall, which is just across our building. If you want all meat goodness without having to spend a lot, I say you try this Brick Oven Cuisine.

Roast Beef and Pancakes

Whenever I'm too lazy to pick a place to eat, I always choose the Pancake House and order this.

And then I have cheese pancakes for dessert.

Last night's dinner was at Blufish in Eastwood City, Libis. Blufish is part of the Red Crab group so expect nothing but fresh seafood goodness.

Bellini's

My family and I have always been fascinated with Italian fashion, culture, and the Mafia. We also love Italian food because there's so many flavors to taste in one bite.

Last night, we finally got to try this authentic Italian restaurant called Bellini's, in Cubao Expo (which is just a few steps away from where we live). We have been getting a lot of recommendations about it but we just never had the chance to explore Cubao Expo as a family.

Bellini's is owned by Italian Roberto Bellini and his Filipina wife, Ma. Luisa. Signor Roberto was personally there to entertain customers. The food exceeded our expectations and the waiters were also very nice.

If I'm not mistaken, it's where they shot the very popular, One More Chance (starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo).

Ciao! Io sono Jannica. :) (Hey, I still know something from my Italian foreign language class in college!)

My dad ordered wine for us. He says you can't be in an authentic Italian restaurant and not drink vino.

Pizza means "pie" in Italian. So it's redundant to say "pizza pie".

Pasta platter

Sweet wine. This tastes a lot like Jagermeister.

Gelato cake!

I feel like I'm in a real trattoria in Italy, or at least in Little Italy. Haha

Is that the Leaning Tower of Pisa?

94th

It's our 94th month as a couple today and we (Nikko and I) basically celebrated it by being together the whole day (we were looking for accessories for the shoe biz) and by having dinner at Dampa, Farmer's Market again. Haha. I love seafood and so does he! :)

Ensaladang Mangga (costs around P110)

Garlic Buttered Shrimps (PHP 160 per half-kilo + PHP 100 Paluto charge)

Fried Pampano in Oyster Sauce (PHP 150 per half kilo + PHP 100 Paluto charge)

We concentrated on the food that we forgot to take photos of ourselves. I think what we ate could have fed four people. Haha.

For paluto, you can try:

Exile on Main St.

Tonight, Nikko and I went to the blessing of this bar/restaurant called Exile on Main St. It is co-owned by Nikko's sister, Ces, who is a theater actress. The restaurant is found in Leon Guinto St., near St. Scho Manila. It serves yummy oriental food with a twist as well as drinks.

The place is very cozy, one where a group of good friends could hang out and where a family could have a lovely dinner. The owners are all into theater, which quite explains the artsy ambiance (you can see unique, cool decorations everywhere!).

I wasn't able to take photos of the food because it was served buffet-style tonight. They served lots of delicious appetizers and main courses that would truly leave you wanting for more. The chef, Josh, is a director and playwright (not to mention a Palanca awardee!)

Also, beer is very cheap! :) I will definitely be back to take photos and to satisfy my palate!

That's me inside the restaurant; Inner top by Armani Exchange, Blazer from Hong Kong, Necklace from Girl Shoppe; Jeans from Forever 21

The blessing

Love the design! :) That's Ces, one of the owners, probably taking orders.

Cafe Lidia

Nikko, my boyfriend is from Marikina City and he introduced me to this nice little restaurant called Cafe Lidia in Kalumpang, Marikina. We go there sometimes for casual dates. Today, we dropped by after a tiring day looking for shoe materials for our shoe line.
