Uncle Cheffy

So, my mom's birthday was spent at home because of the endless rain and flood that Metro Manila and other parts of the Philippines suffered from. All the restaurants and malls were closed for the day so we just celebrated by being together in our condo. We were so thankful that our loved ones were safe and we prayed for our countrymen's safety. It's sad that the country had to go through something like Ondoy again.

The next day, we had lunch at Uncle Cheffy in Ali Mall, which is just across our building. If you want all meat goodness without having to spend a lot, I say you try this Brick Oven Cuisine.

Pakil, Laguna: Parish of San Pedro Alcantara

Last Saturday, we went to Siniloan, Laguna to attend the wedding of Nikko's cousin. Unfortunately, we made it only to the reception, which lasted a little over two hours.

We found out that the place was near Pakil, which is famous for its spring resorts and its very beautiful Church, the Parish of San Pedro Alcantara. The Pakil Church is home to the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Turumba. We went to visit it and were awed with its architectural design.

Here are some photos:

It was a very tiring day but just seeing the old Church and the statue was worth it. Another pilgrimage adventure for Nikko and me. Which reminds me, I gotta head back to Manaoag soon.

25

So, today is my birthday and I am now 25 years old! I am so thankful to the Lord for everything that He has given me the last 25 years and I'm excited for whatever the next years will give me (I'm sure my following years will be great or even greater!).

I celebrated with my law school friends, my family and Nikko today. I went to school for a one-hour class and I was surprised by my friends and classmates with a shoe-shaped birthday card (which made me cry) and gifts. When I came home, Nikko was there waiting for me with my family and I opened his presents right away (loved them!). Then, my family went to Galileo Enoteca in Eastwood to have dinner.

I wore my Style Staple Camille two-tone dress, which I ordered from my high school batchmate and friend Arvie. I ordered some dresses just a few days before and told her I would be wearing one of them today for my birthday and she immediately shipped out the items. I got them yesterday and I'm so thankful to her 'cause they got to me on time. :) Call me shallow but for me, a good birthday is not complete without a nice outfit. Haha.

Happy birthday to me!

Thanks, Maan and R for the gift! :)

These were waiting for me at my desk when I arrived in school today. I loved the Stefani Heelless inspired birthday card and I loved the messages inside! :)

JD = Janna's Defense

So yesterday, I defended my thesis for law school. It was the first time I went through something like that and it really was an unforgettable experience. The defense lasted for an hour and there were three panelists asking me questions and commenting on my paper. It was very challenging and difficult and I'm really glad it's all over now. :)

I was just so happy when I heard from the Thesis Center that I had already been graded for my work. They actually liked my written output. Yay!

My girlfriends accompanied me to the thesis defense area. They were so supportive and I love them so much!

When it was over, I cried. I felt mixed emotions. My friends were still there, waiting for me. Also, Nikko showed up with a bouquet of flowers. My mom, who went to the chapel met up with us, too and treated us to dinner. I am just so blessed to have loving people around me.

Here are some photos:

I'm Shoe in Love (Part 2) Bazaar

Sophisticat Shoes joined the I'm Shoe in Love bazaar, which happened at the NBC Tent, The Fort from June 30 to July 1, 2012. It was our first bazaar and I'm so glad it turned out fun and successful. I met a lot of different people, who were interested in our designs.

Here are some photos from Day 2:

With my close friend, Tel and her boyfriend, Nikoy. :)

Want these for myself! Too bad, they're sold out!

Happy Birthday, Little Brother!

It's my little brother, Manfred's birthday today! :) Nikko and I joined the "I'm Shoe in Love" bazaar at the NBC tent today (will post about it in the succeeding days) and so my family decided to celebrate Manfred's birthday in the Fort area.
